ive gone throughh the same exact thing as u have. many people called me emo, and if they refered to the style of music i like and wat i wear and basically the ACTUAL def. of emo, then yea,, they were right

I don't know what happened to the society either. It seems we all run on stereotypical sayings and thoughts. It seemed to start on the internet and it just grew to the outside. I agree with Ultrared on how it seems most people in this era we live in are self-centered and have nothing else to do but make others feel bad and/or pissed off. Then again it seems the atmosphere now is sad and gloomy. No one ever has really anything good to say, it's always mindless complaining and depression. I have to say I agree totally that Americans as a whole are retarded and Bush suxxxorz lol. And I consider myself a Grunger, and while very few if any people have called me emo, I have actual emo friends, its just a subculture, and just because its not a prefered clique it gets dumped on, which is just a show of how ignorant, and willfully so, most of our fellow Americans are.

nah what you said id very valid, the emo trend is just too far out of hand, i mean to be honest i detest Emo's, not because of what there about but because people now become Emo because all their friends are, i thought choosing to make your self look in a certain way was about being different, NOW EVERY MAN AND HIS DOG (an emo dog) looks identical. I agree with you phyconinja. I can relate, because i wear the excessive amounts of black clothing. What i have learned, from observing EMO's is that their general appearance is quite distinctive.

1. Most EMO's will have a singnificantly absurd hair style, OR, completely plain and boring. It will usually consiste of 1 or more colors, such as black, blonde, red, or blue.

2. EMO's has a strict dress code, with dosen't really vary in style, but varies in color and logo more.

Male: Tight, restricting pants, with a chain (that probably connects to nothing) extending to about 5-7 inches in length. Most of their clothing will have a significant patch, or series of patches, resembling a activist / Freedom / anti=gov't movement. Their shirts, with probably vary the most, can range from a long sleeve, plaid / striped whatever, to a short sleeve (VERY tight, like XXS) and has a band logo on the front

Female: Almost always, will a EMO girl, wear a plaid school girl skirt, with possibly a safty pin in it for some reason. Fish net stockings are an absolute EMO requirement (No matter the temperature outside) and will always have a series of rips or tears, cuz dat shyt is badass, fo' reelz...
Sry...moving on. An EMO girls hair style is ALWAYS long...you cannot be EMO if your hair is less than 10 inches. And with females, the colors can range from anything that is in the color spectrum, from Hot fukin' pink, to David Hasselhoff shorts Red.

3. The attitude of am EMO is pretty much unknown...most of the time, (and i'm probably going to get alot of crap from people for this) But most of the time, the EMO sulky, depressed, anti-trust attitude, is just an ACT. That's right, most of the EMO's out there, are just acting like their life sucks ass. And we can all tell them the same sob story about kids in africa, whatever. (My apologies to Mindchamber if i have insulted him and the kids from Arica....power to the people brother,) So, EMO's are pretty much:

- sissys
- weak-minded
- not very creative
- one-with-the-crowd
- loner (possibly a stoner)
- acts independed (when mommy isn't around with her minivan)
- and overall, lame.

Now then....on to the GOTHIC people.

All i can really say is...I'm gothic, i wear loose / baggy / VERY comfortable clothing, I like the Insane Clown Posse, AND i have an independant mind of my own. And just because i "Wear what other people wear, and call myself gothic" dosnt mean i'm just going with the crowd. I actual perfer to label myself as gothic, instead of just saying "Hi, i'm scott, look! i wear black things."
